We were advised by friends of Jim & Jill in the Cotswolds. Jill was efficient with our booking and details of our accommodation for our pickup. The day was fantastic and Jim told us all about the history and anecdotes about not just the places we visited but also between locations. The whole day was brilliant and well worth the fee. Would definitely use again!

This is a nice little tour of the various filming locations where BBC "Father Brown" has been filmed. You are taken out into the countryside in a local council licenced tour guide for the tour which can last as long as you require, as you can request tours per hour. The guide/driver′s family has lived and farmed the Cotswolds for many generations and provides you with history, knowledge, information and anecdotes. The highly successful and popular BBC drama series 'Father Brown' is set during the early 1950s is based on the stories by GK Chesterton, in the fictional village of Kembleford. Kembleford is in actual fact Blockley, where Father Brown is a priest at St Mary's Church. Father Brown's aim is to solve the many murders in and around Kembleford. The local bumbling police inspector having very little common-sense and often arrests the wrong suspect, tends to become annoyed by Father Brown's antics and successful deductions to solve the cases. Father Brown is a Roman Catholic priest and lives in the Cotswold village of Kembleford (actual place is Blockley). Although filming takes place in many locations throughout the series. Passing off other locations as the same village. Kembleford is actually the Gloucestershire village of Blockley. The series uses the church of Saints Peter and Paul (Church of England) as the St Mary Roman Catholic church. The vicarage becomes the presbytery for Father Brown's permanent house. When is Father Brown set? Father Brown is set in the early 1950s in a Cotswold village. The amateur home detective features in 53 short mysteries between 1910 and 1936. As we look at our pictures and read our journal of our trip, we truly have to say that the best part of our trip was having Jim drive us around the Cotswold area. He was so informative and showed us places we would have never been able to find ourselves. He was our own personal tour guide! I only wish I had hired Jim earlier in our trip to make our vacation stress-free and more relaxing. I would recommend your car service to anyone, whether young or old, to really see more of the area and get the most out of your time there. I plan to bring the whole family back to the Cotswold & Devon area and I know who I will be hiring to drive us around the beautiful countryside.
