• Relaxed and yet dignified

  I have worked alongside James as a funeral celebrant. His manner with bereaved families is attentive and concerned; his attention to detail superb; and his way of doing things relaxed and yet dignified. I feel completely at ease when he is in the funeral director role.

• Hassle free and eminently professional

  My family recently used Family Tree Funeral Company and were completely and utterly impressed by James Shower's help, advice and organisation. The death came right out of the blue and so we were all rather shocked, but the way it was handled from start to finish took a huge burden off us all. We spoke to 3 funeral directors prior to making arrangements and they were by far the most knowledgeable and profession, and human, by a long way. Thanks again.

• An extraordinary level of personal service

  Before I found Family Tree Funerals I thought all funeral directors were probably pretty much the same. I certainly wasn't looking forward to the whole business of arranging a funeral -- until I met James Showers. He is an amazing, kind and very thoughtful man. He transformed what I thought was going to be a dismal process into something really positive and even, on the day itself, into something which we all enjoyed -- if that's possible. This was because, with his patient advice, we were able to create a really special, unique and memorable funeral. He made us aware of so many choices, he showed us what was possible, and he never 'took charge'. For us, it felt like a partnership. I have never met anyone whose experience of dealing with a funeral director has come close to the relationship we had with James. He really does care. He has all the time in the world for you. He isn't gloomy and formal and stuffy. He doesn't have a same-old-same-old way of working. I would recommend anyone to use him, whatever their religion or beliefs or value or lifestyle. He makes everything special. He brought hope and light and what I can only describe as naturalness to something we were all dreading. We found the experience incredibly helpful in enabling us to accept what had happened ,and deal with it, and move on. Thank you, James. You are a man with a golden heart. Is there a better funeral director in the UK? I doubt it.
